=====Conversion Instructions=====
+
======'''Step 1'''======
+
#We recommend that you dub/record using '''''Audacity'''''
+
#:(It is available for all OS : Linux Distributions, Windows [all versions] and also for Mac OSX)
+
# After you record in '''''Audacity''''' -
+
#* Click on '''File -> Export -> save as *.mp3'''
+
#* This will export the final audio as an "*.mp3" file
+
# If you are using '''''Movie Maker''''' -
+
#* Convert the output file as an "*.mp3" using '''''Any Video Convertor (Free Version)'''''
+

+
======'''Step 2'''======
+
# Now '''download the original ".mov" English video''' from this link [http://spoken-tutorial.org/english-videos http://spoken-tutorial.org/english-videos]
+
#Place the '''dubbed audio''' file '''''(.mp3 format)''''' and the '''downloaded English video''' file '''''(.mov format)''''' in the same folder
+
#:'''Please Note''' - You have to use '' [http://ffmpeg.org FFmpeg] Command Line'' for the following process
+
#:So ensure that it is installed on your machine
+
#Do the following in a Linux machine -
+
#*Open the '''Terminal''' and go to the folder using '''cd''' command
+
#:For e.g. '''''cd Desktop/linux'''''
+
#Here '''linux''' is the folder in which I have saved the audio and video files for conversion
+
#:In my case, the file names are :
+
## '''English Video''' : linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-english.mov
+
## '''Dubbed Audio''' : linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-tamil-dubbed.mp3
+

+
======'''Step 3'''======
+
#First : Remove the '''English''' audio from the downloaded '''English mov''' video
+
#:To do so, type the command :
+
#:'''ffmpeg -i linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-english.mov -an -vcodec copy linux-basic-of-system-admin-english-video-without-audio.mov'''
+
#:This command will remove the audio from the input video ''(linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-english.mov)'' and
+
#:save the output video ''(linux-basic-of-system-admin-english-video-without-audio.mov)'' in mov format itself
+
#Second : Merge the dubbed audio with the English video without audio
+
#:Type the command :
+
#:'''ffmpeg -i linux-basic-of-system-admin-english-video-without-audio.mov -i linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-tamil-dubbed.mp3 -vcodec copy -acodec copy linux-basic-of-system-admin-tamil.mov'''
+
#:This command will merge the dubbed audio (in .mp3 format) with the English video with out audio (in .mov format) and
+
#:save the output in .mov format (linux-basic-of-system-admin-tamil.mov)
+

+
======'''Step 4'''======
+
#Convert the dubbed mov file into ogv video
+
##We have the dubbed video in '''.mov''' format with the same quality like the original English video
+
##But we need it in '''.ogv''' format
+
##To convert '''mov''' into an '''ogv''' video, use "[[https://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.html | ffmpeg]]" or any other online video convertor tool.
+

+
So finally we will get the dubbed video in '''OGV format''' in '''GOOD QUALITY''' with '''LESSER FILE SIZE'''

===Conversion of video from wmv to mp4 format ===
+
=====Upload Instructions=====
Most of the time, when we dub the tutorials into other languages we find that the filesize of the resultant tutorial is high. Since, these dubbed tutorials will not be used for dubbing into any other language (always use the original tutorial for dubbing purpose), here is a method by which one can reduce the filesize of the dubbed tutorial.
+

Ideally, save the movie in '''BEST QUALITY''' in Windows Movie Maker. Then convert the output '''.wmv''' file to '''mp4''' format using '''ANY VIDEO CONVERTOR'''. The settings for this are as follows –
+
# Login to the website
#Output Profile – Mobile Phone MPEG-4 Movie (*.mp4)
+
# On the '''Home Page''', click on '''Creation''' tab and select '''Creation Dashboard''' in the drop-down
#Video Options
+
# Locate the '''Contributor''' panel
#* Video Codec – mpeg4
+
# Click on '''Upload/Update tutorials''' link
#* Frame Size – 640X480 or 720X540
+
# Select the '''FOSS Category, Language''' and '''Tutorial Name''' from the drop-down lists
#* Video bitrate – 128 or 256 (go higher if the video quality is bad)
+
# In the first part of the page, the meta-data of the selected topic will be displayed
#* Frames per second – 15
+
# In the second half, you will see the '''Video''' component highlighted in pink colour
#Audio Options
+
# The icon to the extreme right of '''Video''' component is the '''Upload''' icon
#* Audio Codec – aac
+
# Click on the '''Upload''' icon next to '''Video'''
#* Audio bitrate – 64
+
# In the dialog box that opens, browse and upload your video
#* Sample Rate – 11025 or 22050 (go higher if the audio quality is bad)
+
# For '''Video Thumbnail time''', choose the '''Minute''' and '''Second''' of the portion from the video, that you would like to appear in the thumbnail
#* Audio Channel – 2
+
#:
#* Disable Audio – No
+
# The first time you upload
#* A/V Sync – Basic
+
## Click on '''Upload''' button
+
## Close the dialog box
+
## You will come back to the previous page
+
#:
+
# The second and subsequent times you upload
+
## You will see '''What to do with old video?''' message
+
## In drop-down, you will see three options-
+
### Choose '''Replace old video''' if you are doing corrections to the same video you uploaded previously
+
### Choose '''Archive old video as Correction''' if you are replacing the old video due to some major Correction that was pointed out in the old video
+
### Choose '''Archive old video as Verison''' if you are replacing the old video due to Version change in the software

  4. Here linux is the folder in which I have saved the audio and video files for conversion
In my case, the file names are :
    1. English Video : linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-english.mov
    2. Dubbed Audio : linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-tamil-dubbed.mp3
Step 3
  1. First : Remove the English audio from the downloaded English mov video
To do so, type the command :
    ffmpeg -i linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-english.mov -an -vcodec copy linux-basic-of-system-admin-english-video-without-audio.mov
This command will remove the audio from the input video (linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-english.mov) and
save the output video (linux-basic-of-system-admin-english-video-without-audio.mov) in mov format itself
  2. Second : Merge the dubbed audio with the English video without audio
    Type the command :
    ffmpeg -i linux-basic-of-system-admin-english-video-without-audio.mov -i linux-basic-of-syatem-admin-tamil-dubbed.mp3 -vcodec copy -acodec copy linux-basic-of-system-admin-tamil.mov
This command will merge the dubbed audio (in .mp3 format) with the English video with out audio (in .mov format) and
save the output in .mov format (linux-basic-of-system-admin-tamil.mov)
Step 4
  1. Convert the dubbed mov file into ogv video
    1. We have the dubbed video in .mov format with the same quality like the original English video
    2. But we need it in .ogv format
    3. To convert mov into an ogv video, use "[| ffmpeg]" or any other online video convertor tool.
So finally we will get the dubbed video in OGV format in GOOD QUALITY with LESSER FILE SIZE
